Night duty Allowance: A big update is coming out from the Ministry regarding the payment of Night Duty Allowance of the employees. According to the latest information, orders have been issued by the ministry regarding the payment of night duty allowance to the employees.
There is big news for government employees. A clarification order has been issued on the payment of Night Duty Allowance of Railway employees up to Level 1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th pay commission). The terms and conditions for this have been laid down in the clarification order.
Apart from this, payment of night duty allowance will be ensured as per the instructions of the Department of Personnel and Training, if the basic pay is Rs 43600. For which the Ministry of Railways has issued an order and clarified on the terms and conditions.
After the issuance of the instructions of the Board. On 29.09.2020, the demand of unions / unions to abolish the basic pay limit for the eligibility of night duty allowance has been received. The matter has been examined in consultation with DoP&T and MoF(DoE) and it has been decided as under:
Night Duty allowance may be granted to all eligible non-gazetted employees of the Ministry of Railways up to Pay Level – 7th Pay Level – (including those providing the benefit of MACP in 8). However, for working at NDA’s hourly rate, the maximum basic pay is 43600/- i.e. Board’s letter of even number dated dt. The limit fixed as on 29.09.2020 will remain Rs.
The other terms and conditions for granting NDA will remain unchanged. Further, these directions will be provisionally effective from 04.07.2022 i.e. from the date of issue of approval by the Ministry of Finance on the subject. The order is being issued with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
The issue of recovery of Night Duty Allowance is also being raised by the employees. While speaking on the issue of recovery of allowance, it has been clarified. Instructions for this – date of effect The matter will be sent separately to the Ministry of Finance-Department of Expenditure for clarification. On which the process will be started as soon as the instructions are received.
