In such a situation, the Maharashtra government has written to the General Manager Central Railway and General Manager Western Railway, demanding permission for the common man to travel as well.
Indian Railways has confirmed that it has received a letter from the Maharashtra government. The Maharashtra government has written in the letter that the common man should be allowed to travel in non-peak hours. In which 3 slots have been suggested by the government. There has also been a demand to increase the number of local trains in view of the demand of passengers.

The letter also suggested that the common man travel time in the local train. In which the common man can be allowed to travel in the local train till 7 am. After this, people connected with essential services can be allowed to travel in the train from 8 am to 10.30 am. After this, one can be allowed to travel from 11 am to 4 pm. After this, the time from 5 to 7.30 pm will again be for people connected with essential services. Then from 8 am to late night the common man can also be allowed to travel. Along with this, a letter from the state government suggested to run a ladies special train every hour.
At present, there are a total of 1410 local trains running between the Central Line (Main Line) and Western Railway in Mumbai. It is necessary to maintain social distancing in the local train following the Corona virus protocol. In a 12-compartment local train, 700 people have been approved to travel.
