Insurance regulator IRDA has issued a notification in this regard on August 20 and has asked companies and customers to strictly follow the Supreme Court directive. The Supreme Court had directed the companies offering insurance not to renew the insurance of the vehicles without seeing the PUC.

It is known that the new Motor Vehicle Act implemented in the year 2019 has a provision for heavy fines. According to the Motor Vehicle Act, if someone drives a vehicle without insuring it, it is a legal offense. Now it is mandatory to take third party insurance only when buying a car or two-wheelers.
A penalty of Rs 10,000 is being imposed for violation of the Pollution Under Control Certificate norms. To prevent pollution, every vehicle is tested to the standards set for it. Pollution centers are there for this. Pollution detection centers are usually found at petrol pumps.
