In all the states and union territories of the country including the National Capital Territory of Delhi-NCR, drivers will no longer need to carry Driving License (DL) and Registration Certificate (RC) with them. Now the drivers on the road can show the documents kept in digital form in the DigiLocker platform or mParivahan mobile app to the traffic police and the transport department. After the order issued by the Union Ministry of Transport and Highways, now all the states will have to accept the documents present in the m-parivahan app and digi locker. Now it has also been given legal recognition. After this order, all the state and union territories are making people aware by giving advertisements in the newspapers.
Now if your driving license, vehicle registration card is present in the m-Parivahan mobile app and DG Locker, then it will be valid across the country. Till now these documents were available on m-parivahan app, but they were not being given legal recognition, but now it has been legally recognized. Documents kept in DG Locker have now been validated in all states and union territories of the country. For its statutory recognition, state governments are now issuing notifications through newspapers.
Now driving license in Delhi can be canceled for driving without valid Pollution Control Certificate.
The Transport Department, engaged in making people aware, has now issued a notification under the Motor Vehicle Act to recognize the documents kept in the M Transport Mobile App and DG Locker. Till now all the documents were not visible on the website of transport department of many states, due to not being linked to m transport mobile app, but now if you stop the traffic police or transport department officials on the roads and ask them to show the license. If so, you can show your document in these two ways also.
