NPS can withdraw funds for important work, now these millions of government employees got permission

Millions of employees of Indian Railways have got great support to meet the need of Emergency Fund.




Millions of employees of Indian Railways have got great support to meet the need of Emergency Fund. Government has given exemption of partial withdrawal from NPS account to railway employees. As per the government order dated 01 February 2021, PFRDA has given its permission to NPS account holders from the time of Kovid-19 (Covid 19). It is being carried forward.

What is in the circular

According to the PFRDA circular last year, in view of the decision of the Government of India, under which Kovid-19 has been declared an epidemic, it has been decided to declare Kovid-19 as a serious disease, which is fatal.

Partial withdrawal from NPS Account

According to the circular, the account holders are allowed partial withdrawal for the treatment of the disease. This permission will be given for the treatment of account holders, their spouse, children and parents, if needed.

Atal Pension Yojana

PFRDA clarified that partial withdrawal facility will not be available to the account holders of Atal Pension Yojana (APY). According to PFRDA, we would like to clarify that at present there is no provision for partial withdrawal of account holders of APY.

How to withdraw money from NPS account

> Login to your NPS account by going to https://www.cra-nsdl.com/CRA/. User ID is Permanent Retirement Account Number i.e. PRN, enter it.
> After login, go to Transact online tab and select withdrawal option.
> Withdrawal option, select ‘Partial withdrawal from Tier-1’ option.
> A new webpage will open on the screen. You must confirm PRN. If PRN is correct, click on ‘Submit’. The webpage will ask you to submit a system generated form.
> A new tab will open which will contain details like PRN, name, date of birth, amount available for withdrawal, etc. You have to tell what percentage of the amount you want to withdraw.
After clicking submit, a system generated form will be available for download. You have to send this form along with the medical certificate to the nodal office. The nodal office will process your request, as soon as processing is done, money will come to your account.
