Time till 30 November
You have time till 30 November 2023 to select the old pension. The government has taken this decision for the employees. But only a few employees will get its benefit. The Government has stated that the members of the service, who are eligible to exercise the option as per these instructions. At the same time, those who do not select the option of old pension by this due date, those people will automatically be shifted to NPS.
DoPT gave information
Giving information, DOPT has said that according to the instructions, if AIS (DCRB) fulfills the conditions of coverage under Rules, 1958, then this order will continue till January 31, 2024. At the same time, the NPS account of such people will be closed by 31 March 2024. Along with this, the service members can select the Old Pension Scheme under the AIS Rules, 1958. Along with this, it will be necessary for these people to take membership of GPF.
Who have the chance to choose old pension
Only a few employees will get the benefit of the Old Pension Scheme. DOPT has said that those people who have passed the Civil Services exam in 2003, 2004 or Indian Forest Service exam in 2003 will be covered in this.
Apart from this, any employee who was selected or employed in the service of the Central Government before joining AIS, which was covered under the CCA Rules, 1972 or any general rule. All of them have the option to select the Old Pension Scheme.
Notification was issued
According to the government notification issued on July 13, those people who were appointed on the basis of recruitment before the date of implementation of NPS, but due to getting the appointment later, these people were implemented in the new pension system. All those people will get the benefit of the old pension scheme. Officials of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) have told that a notification was issued to know about the Old Pension Scheme, in which information was given about it.
