Will take decision before budget session

In fact, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, while discussing with the media in the Assembly building complex during the ongoing winter session of the Assembly, said that CM Eknath Shinde has given assurance to the government employees demanding the restoration of the old pension scheme and said that in the upcoming A decision on this will be taken before the budget session (February March). Will discuss the committee report

He said that the state government has received the report of a committee constituted to consider the demand of OPS. Senior government officials will discuss this report with employee leaders. The central government has also formed a committee, which will also investigate. The Mahayuti coalition government will take the right decision before the assembly elections, but the employee organizations wanted that a decision should be taken on this demand as soon as possible. The Chief Minister assured to resolve their four-five other queries. The government will take 100 percent decision on this before the upcoming budget session.

Pawar had hinted earlier also

Even before this, a statement of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had come out in which he had said that his earlier stand against the old pension scheme has changed and he will reconsider it positively. The state government wants to strike a balance between salaries, pension amount and the burden on state finances. He has already held preliminary discussions on the issue of OPS with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

OPS is closed in the state since 2005

It is noteworthy that after the implementation of OPS in five states, the government and semi-government employees of Maharashtra are demanding the restoration of OPS, which was discontinued in the state in 2005. Under OPS, the employees will be given 50% of their last drawn salary. % but under the new pension scheme, a state government employee contributes 10% of his basic salary and dearness allowance and the state also contributes the same, then the money goes to the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).
