Old Pension Scheme: GPF numbers have been issued to 1 lakh 20 thousand employees in Himachal. The New Pension Employees Federation has expressed gratitude to the Principal Accountant General for this.
On Monday, the federation’s delegation under the chairmanship of State President Pradeep Thakur met Principal Accountant General Sushil Kumar in his office and honored him by presenting him a memento. Due to low pension, employees were helpless to meet the expenses of their families.
After the formation of Congress government in the state, 800 retired employees have started getting their old pension. These employees were appointed after 2003. The state government had reinstated the old pension scheme, after this the Accountant General’s Office made a pension case after issuing GPF numbers to these employees and now they have started getting pension.
Monthly pension will be Rs 150 to 500
GPF numbers have also been issued to 1.20 lakh employees. The New Pension Employees Federation has expressed gratitude to the Principal Accountant General for this. Pradeep Thakur says that 800 retired employees have started getting a monthly pension of Rs 15 thousand, whereas while in NPS, they were getting a monthly pension of Rs 150 to Rs 500. In such circumstances, the employees were helpless to meet the family expenses.
1 lakh 20 thousand GPF numbers have been issued
The Accountant General’s Office freed the employees of the state from worries by issuing GPF numbers in a very short time, as a result of which the new employees who came under the purview of OPS started getting pension. He urged Principal Accountant General Sushil Kumar that out of 1.36 lakh employees, GPF numbers of 1.20 have been issued. In such a situation, the GPF numbers of the remaining employees should be released in some time. On this occasion, along with Pradeep Thakur, State General Secretary Bharat Sharma and District Mandi President Lekhraj were also present.
CM Sukhu requested to bring it under the ambit of OPS
Accountant General’s office rectified incomplete documents. Till now, the employees and officers of Accountant General’s office repeatedly asked for the correct documents from 10 thousand employees who had incomplete documents for GPF. Now after receiving the correct documents, the process of issuing GPF number has become faster. Six thousand employees of State Electricity Board have not come under the purview of OPS. Pradeep Thakur said that a request has been made to Chief Minister Sukhivander Singh Sukhu to bring them under the ambit of OPS.
