It is noteworthy that recently the Delhi High Court in a decision has ordered the implementation of the old pension scheme for all the personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces. For this, the court has asked the central government to issue necessary guidelines within 8 weeks.
The High Court has set aside a 2003 notification of the Ministry of Finance and an Office Letter (OM) of 2020 of the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, in which the personnel appointed in the Central Paramilitary Forces, as per the advertisements dated January 1, 2004, were not entitled to the benefits of the old pension scheme. has been deprived.
What is the old pension scheme
Tell that under the old pension scheme, before the year 2004, the government used to give a fixed pension to the employees after retirement. This pension was based on the salary of the employee at the time of retirement. In this scheme, after the death of the retired employee, his family members were also given pension. The old pension scheme was discontinued on 1 April 2004 and was replaced by the National Pension Scheme.
