Old Pension Scheme Latest Update: The old pension scheme, which was closed in the year 2004, is now being started again. The government of Jharkhand state has announced that it will re-implement old pension for government employees in its state. The Old Pension Scheme in Jharkhand is going to be implemented from October 1. To implement the old pension scheme, the state government has already approved the Standard Operating Procedure. Let us inform that after the closure of the old pension scheme in the year 2004, the New Pension Scheme was implemented.
Decision taken in the meeting held on 15th July
Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat Department, said that in the cabinet meeting held on July 15, a decision was taken to implement the old pension scheme and discontinue the new pension scheme.
He further said that it was decided in this regard that an SOP would be made to complete the scheme. This SOP has been approved by the cabinet. The scheme will be considered effective from September 1.
The old pension scheme was discontinued in 2004
Let us inform that the old pension scheme was discontinued on 1 April 2004 and it was replaced by the National Pension Scheme. In the old pension scheme, the entire pension was issued by the government, but in the National Pension Scheme, employees contribute 10 percent of their salary, while the state government contributes 14 percent.
These proposals also got approval
With the implementation of old pension, about one and a half lakh employees of Jharkhand government will get benefit. Apart from the old pension scheme, the Jharkhand state government has approved 25 more proposals. An important decision in this is that the government will hire chartered aircraft for one month for VVIP and VIP movement in other states outside the border of Jharkhand. Two crore 6 lakh fifty rupees will be spent on this.
