Employees, Old Pension Yojana, Old Pension Scheme: The old pension scheme for employees in the state will be implemented soon. A meeting of the special committee constituted by the Energy Secretary to complete all the formalities in this matter has been proposed on October 21.
In Himachal, the benefits of the old pension scheme have been given to the state government employees. However, the employees of the Electricity Board have been demanding reinstatement of the old pension scheme for the last 6 months. There is always some problem in getting rid of the old pension scheme. Meanwhile, the process of its restoration has now intensified. An important decision can be taken in the meeting of the special committee formed on October 21 to complete all the formalities.
All preparations completed to get the proposal for restoration of the old pension scheme approved
In the meeting, all preparations have been made to get the proposal for restoration of the old pension scheme approved. A plan to restore the old pension with the approval of the Board of Directors in place of the Service Committee is also being discussed. However, if the proposal is approved in the meeting to be held on October 21, then the old pension scheme for the employees will be implemented.
Board officials are gathering information whether this proposal can be approved without going to the service committee or not? This is also being discussed with the Finance Department. However, there is still doubt regarding this meeting among the employees and the union. On Wednesday, the employee union of the board submitted a demand letter to the Managing Director for issuing the notification.
NPS shares may be cut in October
Electricity Board Employees Union and other employees are waiting for the restoration of the old pension scheme. Meanwhile, it is believed that NPS shares may be cut for the month of October also. Along with this, doubts remain regarding the state convention in the last week of October. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has not even given the date of this event. In such a situation, the employees are assuming that the NPS share can be cut in the month of October also. If the Energy and Finance Departments do not give consent regarding the Service Committee on October 21, then the salaries of the Electricity Board employees will start being made. After this, NPS amount can be deducted from their salary once again.
Union General Secretary Hiralal Verma says that CCS pension rules were implemented in the Electricity Board in the year 1974. All the amendments made after that have been implemented on the lines of the government. All the employees who joined after May 15, 2003 have been brought under the ambit of the new pension scheme. In such a situation, the old pension will have to be implemented in the board also from the date of the state government. The delay in this may cause many administrative problems.
