Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that as per the decision of the National Green Tribunal, the rule of banning diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years will be strictly implemented from April 1, 2022. He said that in the first phase, diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years will be removed from the roads in Gurgaon. CM said that the auto drivers falling in the category will be given sufficient time to change their autos.
For their convenience, a camp will be organized on the coming March 10, in which auto drivers can apply to get a new e-auto instead of their old auto. For this the process will be simplified.
Auto drivers will get benefit
The Chief Minister said that the driver who changed the old auto would be given an amount of Rs 7500 along with the certificate from the scrap agency. After showing that certificate, when he takes a new e-auto, then he will get Rs. 30 thousand from Gurugram Municipal Corporation in addition to Rs.
The profit of more than 80 thousand rupees to the auto driver
In this way, the auto driver who changes the old auto will get a benefit of more than 80 thousand rupees. Not only this, these auto drivers will also be assisted in getting the remaining amount financed from the bank to buy a new e-auto. The Chief Minister has also announced that the first auto driver who applies under the above process will be given a reward of Rs.21 thousand on his behalf.
The Chief Minister said that it is the priority of the State Government to implement the orders of the NGT to reduce the level of air pollution in Gurugram. He said that about 100 charging stations would be provided by the Municipal Corporation for e-autos. Apart from this, private agencies will also be able to set up charging points.
