OnePlus has announced that it will be launching the third smartphone under the Nord series, within a month of launching the new OnePlus Nord CE 5G. Dubbed as the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, CEO Pete Lau has said that the smartphone will launch in India and Europe on July 22, 2021.Here’s what to expect from the new OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be first the OnePlus phone to come with a MediaTek chipset and not Qualcomm Snapdragon
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. It will be the first OnePlus smartphone to not come with a Qualcomm chipset. The newly launched OnePlus Nord CE 5G runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G SoC.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G will most likely come in three RAM and storage variants
The new OnePlus Nord 2 5G is expected to come in at least three RAM and storage combinations including 6GB, 8GB and 12GB RAM options while storage ranging between 128GB and 256GB.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G may come with the same display 90Hz refresh rate display seen on the OnePlus Nord CE 5G
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is expected to come with the same display found in the Nord CE 5G– a 6.43-inch AMOLED punch hole display with 90Hz refresh rate, aspect ratio of 20:9 and Full HD+ resolution.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G is expected to offer a 50MP triple camera
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is expected to feature a triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor along with 8MP and 2MP secondary sensors.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G will most likely come with a 32MP selfie camera
Along with the 50MP triple camera setup there may be a 32MP selfie camera.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G will run Android 11-based OxygenOS
The device will run OxygenOS based on Android 11 operating system and software features will be similar to other OnePlus phones
OnePlus Nord 2 5G may come with the same battery specifications of the Nord CE 5G
The smartphone may be backed by a 4,500mAh battery with OnePlus WarpCharge 30T Plus fast charging with an output of 30W.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G expected prices in India
If reports are to be believed, the new OnePlus Nord 2 5G may start at Rs 29,999. There may be three RAM + storage variants of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G covering the price points of up to Rs 36,000.
