New Delhi: Pension fund regulator PFRDA has made opening of accounts under the New Pension System (NPS) extremely easy. So if you also want to open an account under the NPS system, then you will not need to provide a lot of documents for KYC, but only your account will be opened with your Aadhar Card. Moreover, you will not need to provide a separate photocopy for this.
What is New Process – Applicants now have to go to UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) portal ( www.uidai.gov.in ) for KYC and download the password protected Aadhaar XML file through E-NPS. This file will work as KYC. This facility is also used to open NPS account through point of presence. The download Aadhaar has a digital signature of UIDAI. This allows E NPS / Pop to examine it. It can have verification of identity and address. After which you can open an NPS account in minutes. And pension account holders can also start depositing money in it.
Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has already given permission to open NPS account through offline Aadhaar.
Because of CORONAVIRUS, it has already given many facilities- PFRDA is giving many facilities for people to at least get out of the house amidst Corona Pandemic. PFRDA earlier allowed partial withdrawal for the treatment of covid 19 disease to the account holders. Apart from this, the account holders, their spouse, children and parents can withdraw money for treatment if needed.
