PAN 2.0’s e-PAN will be available on your e-mail ID. However, a charge of Rs 50 has to be paid for PAN with physical QR. Also, Rs 15 will have to be paid for delivery of PAN abroad along with postage.
What will have to be done to get PAN 2.0 on e-mail?
The PAN 2.0 scheme has not started yet but taxpayers can get PAN on their email ID. If your email ID is not registered in the Income Tax database, then it can also be updated for free.
How to download e-PAN from NSDL website
- Go to the NSDL link.
- Enter PAN, Aadhaar and date of birth.
- After filling the required information, tick the checkbox and click on submit.
- An OTP will come on the registered mobile number to verify your information. The OTP will be valid for 10 minutes.
- Choose the payment option and click on ‘Proceed to Payment’.
- After the payment is successful, e-PAN will be sent to your email ID.

It may take up to 30 minutes to get e-PAN. If you do not get e-PAN, you can send an email to tininfo@proteantech.in or contact the helpline number 020-27218080/81. This process has been made easier to get digital PAN.
Government brought PAN 2.0 project
Strengthening the Digital India campaign, the central government has decided to update the PAN card. Under this, the PAN 2.0 project has been started, in which new technical services like QR code will be added. This project is an important step by the Income Tax Department towards making the registration service of taxpayers digital and latest.
What is PAN 2.0 project?
PAN 2.0 is an updated version of the existing PAN / TAN 1.0 system. Under this, PAN and TAN services will be integrated and operated digitally. Its purpose is to provide easy and fast service to taxpayers.
What will happen to the existing PAN card?
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has clarified that the existing PAN number will not change. Taxpayers will not need to get a new PAN number.
Will everyone get a new PAN card?
All existing PAN cardholders will get a new PAN card equipped with QR code and new technical features. Taxpayers will not have to pay any charges for the new PAN card.
