New Delhi: Aadhar card is a very important document for any Indian citizen. It has been made mandatory for Aadhaar card holders to link Aadhaar with PAN card.

If you have not linked your Aadhar card with PAN card yet, then you may have to pay a heavy fine for it.

Penalty will have to be paid if PAN is not linked with Aadhaar In
recent days, the Central Government has passed a Finance Bill in the Lok Sabha. Under which it is now mandatory to link Aadhaar with PAN.

Linking of Aadhaar with PAN is also mandatory under Section 234H of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

If you do not link your Aadhaar with PAN by March 31, 2022, you may have to pay a hefty fine of Rs 1,000.

Know how to link PAN with Aadhaar,

  • For this first you have to visit the official website of Income Tax Department https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal .
  • After this, you have to click on the option of ‘Link Aadhaar’ available on the website.
  • After this you have to fill your details here.
  • Here you have to enter your Aadhar number and PAN number.
  • After this you have to click on the option of ‘Link Aadhaar’.
  • Your Aadhaar will be linked with your PAN card as soon as it is clicked.
  • The message of successful linking of PAN with Aadhaar will also appear on your screen.
