PAN-Aadhaar Link: The Income Tax Department has issued an important information regarding the linking of PAN-Aadhaar. According to this, the last date for this work has been extended for one year but now people will have to loose their pockets for this.
There is good news and bad news for those who have not yet linked their PAN card with Aadhaar. The good news is that the government has now extended the deadline for linking PAN-Aadhaar, but at the same time has also imposed a condition, which will be heavy on your pocket.
Government gave 1 year time
If you have not linked PAN-Aadhaar, then now you will get a full year to do this work. The government has extended the last date for linking PAN card and Aadhar card to 31 March 2023. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the apex policy making body for the Income Tax Department, has also issued a notification to extend the last date for linking PAN-Aadhaar. Even before this, the government has extended the deadline for linking PAN-Aadhaar 3 times.
…but now the service will not be available for free
CBDT has extended the last date for linking Aadhaar with PAN card, but has also imposed a fee of Rs 500 for the work of linking Aadhaar-PAN. Whereas till now this work was done for free. That is, even after the Aadhar-PAN link is not linked till March 31, 2022, the PAN card will continue to work without any problem for the next one year. But in the meantime, for linking Aadhaar-PAN, you will have to pay Rs 500. According to this new condition, between 1 April 2022 to 30 June 2022, a fee of Rs 500 will have to be paid for getting your PAN-Aadhaar link and after that a fee of Rs 1,000 will have to be paid for this work.
