The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) had extended the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar till June 30, 2023. In such a situation, till this date people had the opportunity to link PAN card and Aadhaar card by paying Rs 1000. Earlier, the Income Tax Department has urged taxpayers to link their PAN and Aadhaar before the due date.

How to link PAN card and Aadhar card
- To check the PAN-Aadhaar link status, one has to visit the income tax e-filing website incometax.gov.in and go to the ‘Link Aadhaar Status’ tab.

- After clicking on the above link, a new page will open where you will have to enter your PAN and Aadhaar details. After entering the details, you can click on ‘View Linked Aadhaar Status’ which will tell you whether your PAN and Aadhaar are linked or not.
