Step 1: Visit the Passport Seva website
First of all, you need to visit the Passport Seva website. The link to the website is: https://portal2.passportindia.gov.in/
Step 2: Register yourself
After visiting the website, you have to register yourself. For this, you have to click on the “New User Registration” link.
Step 3: Fill in your details
After registering, you have to fill in your details. This includes your personal details, Aadhaar card details, and selecting the passport office.
Step 4: Fill the passport application form
After filling in your details, you will have to fill the passport application form. This includes your family details, educational qualifications, and employment details.
Step 5: Pay the passport fee
After filling the passport application form, you have to pay the passport fee. You can pay the fee either online or offline.
Step 6: Book an appointment
After paying the passport fee, you have to book an appointment. To book an appointment, you have to click on the “Appointment” link.
Step 7: Visit the passport office and submit the documents
At the time of the appointment, you will have to visit the passport office and submit the documents. The documents include:

- Photocopy of Aadhar Card

Step 8: Get your passport

Passport validity
The validity of a normal passport is 10 years. The validity of a passport for minors below 18 years of age is 5 years. Minors aged 15-18 years can get a passport with a validity of 10 years. Apart from this, if they want, they can choose a passport which will be valid till they turn 18.
