Let us tell you that the Pushkar Singh Dhami government of Uttarakhand has given a big news to the poor and destitute elders, defeating them. Yes, now in the state, elderly couples i.e. both husband and wife will be given the benefit of old age pension.
Increase in pension by Rs 200
In this pension scheme, the Uttarakhand government has increased the widow, old age and disabled pension on behalf of the Social Welfare Department. That is, now all pensioners will be given a pension of Rs 1400 instead of Rs 1200. And according to this, a pension of Rs 2800 will be given in the account of elderly couples.
For your information, let us tell you that earlier in the state, only one of the husband or wife used to get the benefit of pension. But now the department has decided to give pension if both are eligible.
