If someone invests Rs 6,000 a month in this, then he is given a pension of Rs 50,000 after retirement. Depositing 6 thousand rupees every month means that by saving 200 rupees every day, you can deposit it in this scheme.
Income tax exemption
Tax exemption is given under Income Tax Act 80C on investing under this scheme. In this, a rebate of up to Rs 1.50 lakh is claimed annually. Apart from this, 50 thousand tax exemption is available under 80 CCD.
Two way investment option
There are two types of account options in this scheme. Individual investments can be made under Tier 1 and it is not linked to the stock market. For this reason, tax exemption is available in it. At the same time, under Tier 2, a minimum of Rs 500 can be deposited and after retirement, 60% of the total deposit can be withdrawn. After this, you can buy annuity for the remaining amount. Pension amount is given only on the amount of annuity purchase. Tier 2 account does not come under tax exemption.
How to get 50 thousand rupees pension
If you deposit 200 rupees everyday then you will get 6000 rupees every month. If you start investing at the age of 24, then the amount deposited till 36 years will be Rs 25,92,000. Now if you get 10% return on this, then the total amount will be Rs 2,54,50,906. After this, 40 percent is invested in annuity and assuming 10 percent return, the amount will be around 1.52 crores. Similarly, every month an amount of 50 thousand will be given as pension.
