Raipur: About three lakh employees will get the benefit of increasing the government’s share in the Contributory Pension Scheme in Chhattisgarh. Now the government will contribute 14 percent instead of 10 percent. In the contributory pension scheme for the employees of the state, ten percent of the salary of the government and the employee has been till now.
Now the contribution of the state government will be increased from 10 percent to 14 percent. The contribution of the employees will remain as before 10 percent. About three lakh employees of the state will be benefited by this decision of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
Announcement on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day
It is noteworthy that on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day, Chief Minister Baghel has announced to increase the contribution of the State Government under the Contributory Pension Scheme in the interest of the employees of Chhattisgarh State. Its purpose is to increase the pension amount that the employees will receive on retirement by making the scheme more beneficial. Under the scheme, now the contribution of the state government will be 14 percent instead of 10 percent of the basic salary and dearness allowance of the employees. With this decision, the annual additional expenditure burden of about Rs 520 crore will be incurred on the state government.
The State Administrative Service Association and various employee organizations have welcomed the announcement of increasing the contribution of the State Government from 10 percent to 14 percent for the employees of the Contributory Pension Scheme appointed after the year 2004 in the state. These organizations have thanked the Chief Minister and said that this decision is the result of inclusive, visionary and sensitive thinking. This decision of the Chief Minister will boost the morale of the government servants.
