Pension Rule: The Delhi government will verify all pensioners and issue cards to eligible people. The pension system has not been upgraded since 2013, due to which many elderly people are facing problems. A large number of elderly people are waiting for their pension to start. After verification, new pensions will be created on the vacancies and the pension amount will also be increased. The entire pension system will be digitalized.
After the announcement of creating new pensions and increasing the pension amount, now the BJP government will also verify all types of pensions in Delhi. After verification, cards will also be issued to eligible pension holders.
All pensions are still the same as before
It is worth noting that since 2013, when the AAP government was formed in Delhi, the pension system has not been upgraded. Almost all pensions in every category, be it elderly, widow or disabled, are still the same as before. As per the rules, verification should be done every year, but verification has not been done even once in these 12 years.
While many elderly people died during this period, a large number of elderly people are waiting for their pension to start. The actual and authentic data of the widow and disabled category has also changed in this time period. Therefore, verification has become necessary in all categories.
Officials of the Social Welfare Department said that soon the pension of every category will be verified. After verification, new pension will be created on whatever vacancies there will be.
The process of giving Rs 2500 instead of 2000 to the elderly between 60 to 70 years and Rs 3000 instead of 2500 to the elderly above 70 years will also be started only after verification.
Pension system will be digitalized
Officials said that after verification, the entire pension system will be digitalized. Cards will be issued to all pensioners, on which all the important information about them and the pension they get will be mentioned. Apart from this, the process of verification will continue from time to time in the future as well.
It is really surprising that there has been no verification of the pension system in Delhi for the last 12 years. We are getting this work done. Within this year, we will get around 50 thousand new pensions made and will also stop all the pensions issued wrongly. After digitizing the entire pension system, we will also issue cards to all pensioners.
