AP pension news: According to the official release, the increase in pension will result in an additional burden of Rs 130.44 crore every month. At present there are 62 lakh pensioners in the state and 2.43 lakh will be added this month.
Pension News: If you are a pensioner then there is good news for you. The cabinet of Andhra Pradesh has increased the social pension on Tuesday. The amount of pension is currently Rs 2,500, which has been increased to Rs 2,750 per month. The increased pension will be given from January 1, 2023.
2.4 lakh pensioners will increase this year
According to the official release, due to the increase in pension, there will be an additional burden of Rs 130.44 crore every month. At present there are 62 lakh pensioners in the state and 2.43 lakh will be added this month. The cabinet has also approved the Andhra Pradesh Pumped Storage Power Promotion Policy-2022 to promote ‘pumped storage’ and hydropower projects for the use of non-conventional sources of energy.
Approval for other works
According to the statement, the cabinet also approved the proposals of Adani Green Energy Ltd for setting up an integrated steel plant of JSW Steel Ltd in YSR district and setting up of 1,600 MW of pumped hydro storage projects in the state.
