Pensioners Pension Update: The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoP&PW) Ministry, through a letter dated 4 April 2022, had also stressed on the early implementation of the above recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee.

But before this, Railway Senior Citizens Welfare Society (RSCWS) has recently requested the government to implement the recommendation of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the grievances of pensioners.
Parliamentary Standing Committee had recommended
In a recent memorandum to the Finance Minister, the RSCWS said that the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Pensioners’ Grievances in its 110th Report, under Recommendation No. 3.28, had recommended that ‘the Committee is of the view that the Government should The demand should be considered. According to this, pensioners will be given 5% additional pension amount at the age of 65 years, 10% at the age of 70, 15% at the age of 75 and 20% at the age of 80.
Emphasized on prompt implementation of recommendations
Apart from this, the Ministry of Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoP&PW) through a letter dated 4 April 2022 had also stressed on the early implementation of the above recommendations of the Parliamentary Committee. RSCWS also said that the government seems to agree with the above recommendations for the pension of those above 65, 70 and 75 years of age. But it was not implemented due to its financial implications.
Therefore, it is requested that the above recommendations be implemented. RSCWS said that 20% additional pension has already been given to those above 80 years of age. The memorandum states that pensioners are facing problems due to poor health, increasing cost of maintenance in old age, social-family responsibilities besides rising cost of medicines.
