Petrol Diesel Price Today: Main oil marketing companies like Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have updated the fuel price for 31 August 2024 (Saturday).
According to the new update, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel even today. This means that drivers can fill oil at the old prices.
Why is the price different in every city
GST is not levied on petrol and diesel. VAT (Vale Added Tax) is levied on it by the state government. VAT rates are different in every state, due to which fuel prices are different in all cities.

- The price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs 104.95 per liter and diesel is Rs 91.76 per liter.
- The price of petrol in Chennai is Rs 100.75 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 92.34 per liter.
