Petrol-Diesel Price Today: The main oil companies of the country like Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) update the price of petrol and diesel every day at 6 am. Oil marketing companies have updated the fuel price for 16 September 2024 (Monday).
According to the new update, even today the price of oil remains the same in all the cities. This means that drivers can buy oil at the old price.
The price is different in all cities
The price of petrol and diesel is different in metros and other cities. The reason for this is VAT (Vale Added Tax). Actually, VAT is levied on fuel price instead of GST. The rates of VAT are decided by the state government. In such a situation, the rate of VAT is different in every state, due to which its prices are also different in all the cities.

- The price of petrol in Mumbai is Rs 103.44 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 89.95 per liter.
- The price of petrol in Kolkata is Rs 104.95 per liter and diesel is Rs 91.75 per liter.
- The price of petrol in Chennai is Rs 100.85 per liter and the price of diesel is Rs 92.32 per liter.
