Companies say that by buying expensive crude from the global market and selling cheap petrol and diesel, they are incurring huge losses per liter. However, there has been no change in the prices of petrol and diesel for almost two and a half months.
New Delhi. Amidst the softening of crude oil prices in the global market, government oil companies have also released new rates of petrol and diesel on Monday morning. Today, the price of Brent crude came to around $ 114 per barrel. However, companies have kept the prices of petrol and diesel stable even today.
State-owned oil companies last increased the prices of petrol and diesel on 6 April, after which its prices were changed only after the tax was reduced by the Center and the states. Then petrol became cheaper by Rs 9 and diesel by Rs 7 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of crude oil came down in the global market and today it is at $ 13.9 per barrel. Companies are telling their losses by buying crude at this price and selling cheap oil, but at present there is no effect on the prices of petrol and diesel.

Petrol in Port Blair has become Rs 84.10 and diesel Rs 79.74 per liter.
New rates are issued every morning at 6 o’clock
Petrol and diesel prices change every day at 6 am. The new rates are applicable from 6 am in the morning. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, VAT and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price becomes almost double of the original price. This is the reason why the prices of petrol and diesel appear so high.
