If you want to withdraw your Provident Fund money for some urgent work but you do not know your PF balance, then do not take tension. For this you do not need to go to the PF office.
Employees can check their provident fund balance sitting at home. You must know that the Finance Ministry has approved an interest rate of 8.5 percent on PF deposits for 2020-21. Social Security mentioned in its official Twitter handle, “EPFO has issued instructions to credit 8.5 per cent interest for the year 2020-21 in some 25.0 crore accounts of EPFO members.”
All employees who contribute to EPF account can check EPF account balance on their phone without internet. Though EPFO has an online e-service portal, it also provides a convenient offline service for hassle free experience. You can also check EPF or PF balance through SMS, missed call. Below we have described the simplest way:
How to Check PF Balance via SMS or Missed Call
1. Employees having accounts with EPFO can check their PF balance by dialing the following numbers on their phones- 7738299899 and 011-22901406.
2. EPF members can check balance through SMS, they just have to type ‘EPFOHO UAN LAN’ and send it to 7738299899 from their registered mobile number.
3. You can also check balance by giving missed call from your registered mobile number. To do this, an EPF member just needs to give a missed call on 011-22901406.
You can also watch it online. For this, all you have to do is login to the EPFO portal. Once the portal opens, scroll down to ‘Our Services’ and search for ‘Employees’. Then go to ‘Member Passbook’ under ‘Services’. After this you will be redirected to a new web page – passbook.epfindia.gov.in. /MemberPassBook/Login.jsp. By doing this you can check your PF balance.
