PF DOB Change Process: When you work in a company, the PF of the employees is deducted as per the rules. You can withdraw this money after leaving the job or in between.
PF Account Correction Process: The Employees Provident Fund Organization i.e. EPFO looks at the PF accounts and related things of the employees working in India. When you work, a fixed amount is deducted from your salary every month which is deposited in your PF account. Also, your company also deposits the same amount in your PF account. At the same time, while opening a PF account, you have to give many of your information, one of which is your date of birth, but if for some reason the wrong date of birth has been updated in your PF account, then you can correct it.
Know about the rules and documents
If there is a wrong date of birth in your PF account, then know that there is a rule of EPFO regarding this, according to which, there should be a difference of 3 years between the date of birth already registered and the date of birth to be registered now (correct date of birth). If there is a bigger difference, you have to provide the relevant documents.
In these documents, you can use your Aadhar card, school or college certificate, passport, driving license, medical certificate and service record of central or state government.
This is the way to correct the date of birth:-
Step 1
- If your date of birth is also updated wrongly in the PF account, then to get it corrected, you first have to go to the official website of EPFO unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
- Here you have to go to the ‘Manage’ section and click on ‘Basic Details’
Step 2
- After this, the option to enter your old date of birth and then the new date of birth will come
- So fill your new date of birth according to DD MM YY and click on the check box
- After this, an OTP will come on your registered mobile number, fill it here
- Then click on update and as soon as you do this, your date of birth will be updated.
