New Delhi. Very important news is coming for EPFO subscribers. The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of EPFO is going to meet soon. It is reported that the Central Board meeting of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) can be held in Guwahati in the first week of March. How much interest you will get on PF interest this year will be decided in this meeting. Many big decisions have to be considered in this meeting. The main agenda of this meeting is also to take a decision on increasing the minimum amount of pension.
It is believed that the EPF interest rate for the year 2021-22 will be finalized in this meeting. It is believed that the current interest rate of 8.5 percent on the amount deposited in EPF can continue. There is little chance of any change in the current interest rate.
People with knowledge of the matter said that the recommendation can be given a day before the meeting or on the same day. Let us tell you that for the year 2020-21, it has been decided to give 8.5 percent interest to 6 crore EPF holders, on which the Finance Ministry has also given its approval.
Meeting in March
This meeting can be held in the first week of March. The last meeting of CBT was held on 16 November. The CBT had recommended an interest rate of 8.5 per cent per annum on EPF deposits in the accounts of members for 2020-21. The Finance Ministry has recently approved this proposal.
The Central Board of Trustees of EPFO is a tripartite body consisting of representatives of the government, employees and employers and is headed by the Labor Minister.
