EPFO, which cuts PF, has given a big information to its employees. Now e-nomination has been made mandatory for its account holders.
Account holders will not be able to view PF passbook without e-nomination. Now e-nomination has been made mandatory to check PF account balance. Till now account holders could easily check PF balance and passbook by visiting the website of Employees’ Provident Fund Organization even without e-nomination. Explain that for e-nomination in the EPF account, the name of the nominee has to be given first.
Along with the date of birth of the nominee, it is also to be told that what percentage of the money deposited in the PF account has to be given to him. If the nominee is a minor, the name and address of his/her guardian has to be given. Signature or thumb impression of the nominee is required. Nomination is mandatory in case of any savings plan account. With this, after the death of the account holder, the money reaches the person whom the account holder wanted to reach after him.
Know the easiest way to do e-nomination
- First of all, login to the EPF member portal by entering your UAN and password.
- Go to the Manage section and click on the e-nomination option.
- Enter permanent and temporary address in the profile and click on ‘Save’ button. Also select whether you are a family member or not.
- Fill the details of family members like Aadhar Number, Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Address, Guardian and click on Save Family Details. More nominees can also be added.
- You can also announce which nominee will get the amount.
- Enter the Aadhaar Virtual ID and click on ‘Verify’.
- Enter Aadhaar Number or Aadhaar Virtual ID and click on ‘Get OTP’. OTP will come on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
- Enter the OTP to complete the nomination in EPFO. After this there will be no need to provide physical documents.
