PF Transfer Rule: When an employee leaves one company and starts working in another company, he has to transfer the money from his old PF account to the new company’s account. This keeps the PF amount in the same account and makes it easy to withdraw it in future. Therefore, if you have also changed jobs, then definitely transfer the money from your old PF account to the new account. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has now made this process completely online. For this you do not need to go to the EPFO ​​​​office.

To transfer EPF money from the old account to the new account online, it is necessary for the account holder’s UAN to be activated on the UAN portal. Also, the mobile number used for activation should also be active. Apart from this, the bank account and IFSC code of the employee should also be linked with UAN and the e-KYC of the employee should also be approved by the employer.

Mandatory Documents for PF Transfer

You must have an active UAN number and password to transfer the old EPF balance to the new account. Along with this, all types of information should be updated in your UAN number, such as bank account number, mobile number, Aadhaar number, you should be updated in UAN.

Transfer money online like this

  • First of all go to the Unified Member Portal of EPFO.
  • Login here with your UAN and password.
  • Now go to the Online Services option and click on One Member-One EPF Account (Transfer Request).
  • After this, verify the details related to the existing PF account along with personal details.
  • After verifying the details of the PF account, click on the Last PF Account Detail option.
  • To verify the form, choose either the previous employer or the current employer.
  • Click on the ‘Get OTP’ option for OTP on the mobile number registered with UAN.
  • Enter the OTP and click on Submit. By doing this, the employer will also get information about the EPF transfer.
  • Your company will approve your EPF transfer request through the employer interface of the unified portal.

How to check PF accounts balance

  • For this, you first go to the official website of EPFO ​​https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
  • After this, after entering the UAN number and password and captcha, log in.
  • After logging in, you will come to the home page. Here go to the Members Profile. Check all your personal details here.
  • Your name, Aadhar details, PAN card should be verified. Apart from this, email id, mobile number and bank account details should also be filled correctly.
  • Before transferring PF, you should check your passbook. For this, you have to go to View where the option of Passbook will appear.
  • After clicking on passbook, you have to log in once again.
  • After login, as soon as you click on the select member id, a complete list will open. The member IDs of all the companies in which you have worked will be visible. The ID at the bottom is of your current company. Here you can check PF balance in all your companies by going to view passbook.
