In such a situation, if you do not have money then there is no need to worry much. You can take a loan on your PF account or you can withdraw money for the treatment of Kovid-19 sitting at home.


EPFO tweeted that EPFO ​​Subscribers can withdraw money using UMANG App through their smartphones. EPFO said that by following these easy steps, with the help of UMANG app, you can withdraw money in the form of COVID-19 Advance. UMANG is a centralized app. It can be used for many government e-services ranging from Aadhaar, gas booking.

No need to pay back the loan

If you withdraw money from your PF account through UMANG app, then there is no need to deposit it again. This loan will be non-refundable loan. EPFO subscribers will get a big relief from this facility. You can use this amount to meet your financial needs during the pandemic.

For what work can you withdraw money


EPFO has put some conditions for its subscribers to withdraw money. According to this, any subscriber can withdraw money for medical treatment, purchase of a new house, construction, renovation, home loan repayment and marriage expenses. You can withdraw up to 90 percent of the amount from the PF account to buy land or house for the house. Apart from this, subscribers can withdraw money in case of medical emergency for husband, wife, parents or children. Conditions like no lock-in period or minimum service period are applicable to this withdrawal.

Withdrawals can be done through UMANG app

  • Log in by downloading the UMANG App on your smartphone.
  • Click on the EPFO ​​section under the option ‘All Services’ on the screen.
  • Go to the drop-down and select the option ‘Claim’. Then type your EPFO ​​UAN.
  • After this, enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  • You will get a reference number claim on your phone.
  • You can use this number to track the status of your withdrawal request.
