PM Awas Yojana: Big news! 3.61 lakh houses under PM Awas Approved, apply immediately

PM Awas Yojana 2021: The Central Government has approved the construction of 3.61 lakh houses in urban areas under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-U). This decision was taken in the 56th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee of the government.



 

New Delhi: PM Awas Yojana 2021: Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-U), the central government has given green signal to the proposal for the construction of 3.61 lakh houses in urban areas. Under the PM Awas Yojana, the central government gives homeless people by building houses. In this scheme, subsidy is also available to those people who buy a house or flat on loan. This decision was taken in the 56th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee of the government.

Decision taken in the meeting!

The 56th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee was held on 23 November 2021 at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in New Delhi. The meeting was presided over by Shri Durga Shankar Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Many important issues were discussed in the meeting and many big decisions were also taken.

In this meeting, approval was given for construction of a total of 3.61 lakh houses under the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC), In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR) verticals of PMAY-U. In the meeting, Secretary, Durga Shankar Mishra talked about resolving the issues without delay so that the construction of houses can be expedited.

How to apply in PMAY

1. For application in PM Awas Yojana Rural, you can download the government app from your mobile and create a login ID.

2. Now this app will send a one time password to your mobile number.

3. After logging in with the help of this, enter the required information.

4. After applying to get a house under PMAY G, the central government selects the beneficiaries.

5. After this the final list of beneficiaries is put on the website of PMAYG.

Who gets the benefit of the scheme?

It is worth noting that earlier the benefit of PM Awas Yojana (PMAY) was only for the poor section. But, now by increasing the amount of home loan, its benefit is also being given to the middle class. Earlier, the home loan amount in PMAY ranged from Rs 3 to 6 lakh, on which interest subsidy was given. But now it has been increased to Rs 8 lakh.

Know the scope of this scheme 

The annual household income for EWS is fixed at Rs 3 lakh. The annual income for LIG should be between 3 lakh to 6 lakh. At the same time, let us tell you that now people with annual income up to Rs 12 and 18 lakh can also take advantage of this scheme.

How much is the plan?

It is worth noting that under the PM Awas Yojana, houses are being constructed in different phases. So far, the total number of houses approved under this mission has now become 1.14 crore. Of these, more than 89 lakh houses are under construction. The construction of about 52.5 lakh houses has been completed and allotted to the beneficiaries. Let us tell you that this scheme is of a total of Rs 7.52 lakh crore, in which the central government has assisted ₹ 1.85 lakh crore. So far Rs 1.13 lakh crore has been released.

e-finance module launched

In the CSMC meeting, the e-finance module was also launched by MoHUA. The e-finance module is integrated with all the modules of PMAY-U MIS and is designed in PMAY-U MIS system. Its purpose is to provide direct benefits to the beneficiaries. MoHUA secretary informed that proposals for Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) – Model 2 – in Telangana and Tamil Nadu have also been approved.
