Treatment rates will be reasonable

An official associated with the National Health Authority told Zee Business that private hospitals do not want to join the Ayushman Bharat scheme because the rates of treatment are not affordable. Whereas, on the other hand, some treatments for government hospitals are more than the fixed rates, but in government hospitals, the rest of the treatment is free, so the government hospital does not have much problem. At present, the share of private sector in 23,000 hospitals associated with Ayushman Bharat scheme is close to 40%.

Huge difference in the rates of government-private hospitals

There is a huge difference between the rates of government hospitals and private hospitals. The National Health Authority is considering standardization in treatment rates. This step of the government is expected to increase the participation of private sector in Ayushman Bharat. At the same time, increasing the participation of the private sector will benefit the common people. Patients will be able to get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in maximum private hospitals.
