PM Gati Shakti: Big update regarding these 5 highways… Know when will the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway start?

States and Union Territories like Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Maharashtra will get direct benefits from this scheme. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari shared information about 5 expressways being developed in these states in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.


New Delhi: The Modi government at the Center had brought ‘PM Gati Shakti Scheme’ in the year 2022 to give impetus to the country’s economy. Through this, an effort to strengthen the infrastructure of the country was started with the joint efforts of many ministries of the central government. States and Union Territories like Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Maharashtra will currently get direct benefits from this scheme. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is also being built under this scheme. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave information in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday about 5 expressways being built in these states.

Nitin Gadkari has said in a written reply that the Modi government is continuously trying to boost the country’s economy through ‘PM Gati Shakti Yojana’. PM Gati Shakti Mission is a scheme of Rs 100 lakh crore, which is to be implemented in the entire country. The objective of this scheme is to reduce expenses on logistics, increase cargo handling capacity and reduce the time taken to send goods from one place to another.

Big update regarding Delhi-Mumbai Expressway:

Under this scheme, the work of 1386 km Delhi-Mumbai Express has been partially completed. Recently the section of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway from Ahmedabad to Bharuch has started. After this, the portion from Surat to Valsad will be ready by June this year. The time for completion of the entire expressway has been kept for December 2024. Through this expressway, the country’s capital Delhi and financial capital Mumbai will be connected by better road. The 24-hour journey between Delhi and Mumbai will be completed in 12 hours.


These states will benefit.

Under PM Gati Shakti Mission, work is going on on Ahmedabad-Dholera 109 kilometer expressway. After the completion of this project, Dholera will be directly connected to Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Work on 262 km expressway between Bengaluru-Chennai has started. Many cities of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu will benefit from the completion of this project. Similarly, work on the 669 kilometer Delhi-Amritsar-Katra highway is going on at a fast pace. With its construction, the people of Haryana, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir are going to benefit a lot. Work is also going on at a fast pace on the 63 kilometer expressway between Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway in UP. After completion of this project, it will take less than 40 minutes to travel from Lucknow to Kanpur.

PM Gati Shakti Mission will strengthen the economic structure.

Under PM Gati Shakti Mission, construction work of 2489 km expressway is going on in the country, in which the work of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is almost completed. In the year 2022, the Central Government had announced to spend Rs 100 lakh crore on PM Gati Shakti Mission. Through this amount, the central government had announced a plan to further strengthen the infrastructure sector of the country.

It is noteworthy that in the National Master Plan of Modi Government, roads, rail, airport, port, public transport, waterways and logistics infrastructure have been called 7 engines. Under the PM Gati Shakti Mission, a plan was made by the Central Government to reduce the logistics cost, work on the same is going on.
