PM Modi gives high-speed Internet connectivity to Andman Nicobar, says – this will give Blue Economy speed

new Delhi. A new era of Internet has started in Andaman Nicobar Islands from today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ( pm modi ) inaugurated the Submarine Optical Fiber Cable connecting Chennai and Port Blair. The length of this cable is 2,300 kilometers. Let us tell you that the foundation of this submarine was laid in 2018 itself. The aim of this project is to increase better Internet connectivity between the Indian islands.

– PM said that even the Corona crisis did not stop the work from being completed, it was the responsibility of the country to connect with Andaman and provide connectivity for the history of the country.



Andaman Nicobar will be developed as Port Land Development in the coming time. The whole world is assuming that the country where Internet connectivity will be better, they will be ahead in the 21st century.

– India is moving forward with a resolve of self-sufficiency. In such a situation, we also need to strengthen the network of ports. This is giving new strength to the country.

– I hope that our efforts today, in this decade, will give Andaman and Nicobar not only new facilities to the people there but also as a prominent place in the World Tourist Map.



Today, as much as modern infrastructure is being prepared in Andaman and Nicobar, it will also accelerate the Blue Economy. Fisheries, Aquaculture and Sea Weed farming are an important part of the Blue Economy.

Similarly, construction of deep draft inner harbor in East Coast is also going on fast.

Now it is proposed to construct Trans Shipment Port in Great Nicobar at an estimated cost of about 10 thousand crores.

– The legal hurdles coming in the construction of the port infrastructure are also being removed.



– Modi said that the people of Andaman will get the facility of Ease of Living with this project, as well as all the benefits of Digital India.

– Now the people of Andaman and Nicobar will also be able to get fast and cheap internet facilities. The people, sisters, children of Andaman and Nicobar will all get all the benefits of Digital India, which is being provided to the people of the rest of the country.

– The tourists who visit the Andaman will get great benefit from the facility. Improved internet connectivity is the first requirement of any tourist destination, now this need is fulfilled for Andaman.



This cable link will give a bandwidth of 2×200 GB per second (GBPS) between Chennai and Andaman Nicobar’s capital port Blair. The bandwidth between Port Blair and the rest of the islands will be 2×100 GBPS. Actually, a day before the introduction of high speed broadband, PM Modi interacted with BJP workers of Andaman.

The Prime Minister said that not only Digital India but the road-air route is also being strengthened. Now, facility of repairing big ships will also be done in Andaman.

These areas will be
connected, Andaman and Nicobar will also be the beginning of a new Internet era. This cable will also connect Port Blair to Swaraj Island, Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Comorta, Great Nicobar, Long Island and Rangat.

– On 30 December 2018, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of this project in Port Blair.
– Prepared at a cost of Rs. 1224 crore
– 2300 km long submarine optical fiber cable has been laid.

as soon as this project starts, Andaman and Nicobar will get fast and reliable mobile and landline telecom services like other parts of India. PM Modi said that – With this facility being available in the time of Corona, it will be possible to get maximum benefits of online facilities in children’s education, banking and other services in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
