Every year after becoming the Prime Minister for the first time in 2014, PM Modi has been celebrating his birthday in a unique way. In 2014, on his first birthday as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi went to Gandhinagar to seek blessings from his mother Heeraben. Reports said that Modi traveled alone in a normal vehicle from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar on his 64th birthday. On this occasion his mother donated Rs 5,000 to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir. Later in the day, Modi hosted a special dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping in Ahmedabad.

2015

Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his 65th birthday by visiting the 1965 war exhibition Shauryanjali, organized to commemorate the golden jubilee of the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War. While BJP workers unveiled 365 kg laddus to celebrate his birthday.

2016

On his 66th birthday, PM seeks blessings from his mother Heeraben in Gandhinagar. Later in the day, Modi visited Navsari where he distributed assistive devices among persons with disabilities. About 989 diyas were lit simultaneously on this occasion which became a record.

2017

Modi inaugurated the Sardar Sarovar Dam at Kevadiya in Gujarat on his 67th birthday. The dam was unveiled six decades after India’s first PM Jawaharlal Nehru laid its foundation stone. On this occasion, Modi said that the dam will become a symbol of the strength of the country. He also went there to take stock of the work at the Statue of Unity. After this he participated in the closing ceremony of ‘Narmada Mahotsav’. Addressed a gathering before visiting the residence of Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh, who was martyred on 16 September. Earlier, he had gone to Gandhinagar to seek blessings from his mother Heeraben.

2018

PM Modi visited his parliamentary constituency Varanasi where he spent time with children of a primary school to celebrate his 68th birthday. Solar lamps, stationery, school bags and notebooks were provided to the students. Later, the PM offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple in the city. The day was made special when Navjeevan Trust, founded by Mahatma Gandhi, published the Gujarati version of Exam Warriors by PM Modi. He is the third PM of India on whom the Trust published the edition.

2019

Prime Minister Modi celebrated his 69th birthday with a hectic schedule. At that time he spent most of his time in his home state of Gujarat. He visited Sardar Sarovar Dam in Narmada. He inspected the milestone of the dam after reaching the highest capacity of 138.68 metres. Its height was increased for the first time in 2017.

2020

PM Modi’s 70th birthday came amid the outbreak of Coronavirus. The country was battling the pandemic, so the ceremony was organized on a very small scale. The day focused on social service and symbolic initiatives.

2021

On his 71st birthday, the Prime Minister virtually participated in the 21st meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
