PM Scholarship Scheme: Many schemes are started by the central government for the upliftment of different sections of the country. One of which is PM Scholarship Scheme.
This is a type of scholarship scheme (PMSS) through which the central government encourages education to the children and widows of deceased or ex-servicemen of the country’s armed forces, para-military forces and railway protection forces. This scheme PM Scholarship Scheme is funded by the National Defense Fund administered by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Under this scheme, scholarships are provided for the study of various professional courses. Only those people can apply under this scheme who are ex-servicemen, ex-coast guard or from the family of the martyred soldier.
Students will get scholarship of 25 thousand rupees annually
This scheme PM Scholarship Scheme was started in the year 2006 . Under the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme, about 5500 beneficiaries are being provided scholarship every year. Under this scheme, scholarship is provided every year at the rate of Rs.3000 per month for girls and Rs.2250 per month for boys to Rs.2500 per month . For your information, let us tell you that this increase was done from the year 2019-2020.
The duration of getting the scholarship is decided by the concerned authorities. This scholarship is given from 1 year to 5 years , depending on the course in which admission is taken. Apart from this, from the year 2016 -2017, now applicants will have to apply in online mode to apply in this scheme.

- Applicant’s Aadhar Card
- Bank Account Passbook
- Bonafide Certificate
- Student’s 10th and 12th certificate
- Ex-Servicemen / East Coast Service Certificate
- Passport size photograph of the student
- ESM certificate.
They will get benefit
- To take advantage of PM Scholarship Scheme, these eligibility conditions have to be fulfilled.
- Applicant should be 12th pass or graduation.
- Only those candidates who have taken admission in the first year can apply for this scholarship.
- The applicant must have secured at least 60 percent or more marks in all previous qualifying examinations (10+2, Diploma, Graduation).
- Children and widows of deceased or ex-servicemen of the Armed Forces, Para-Military Forces and Railway Protection Force of the country will be eligible under this scheme.
