New Delhi: Many children lost their parents and became orphans. The central government has announced a free health insurance facility of Rs 5 lakh as part of relief efforts for the families of Covid-19 victims.’
India’s prime minister of the central government Ayushman health Yojana Covid the families of the victims of -19 to Rs 5 lakh children under 18 years, will provide free insurance facility. The central government said in the monsoon sessions of Parliament that 13 crore families would benefit from the scheme.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur said on Twitter that the Rs 5 lakh free health insurance premium provided under PMJY would be paid from PMCare funds as part of the care of children affected by Covid-19.

According to the 2011 census, the families of beneficiaries in urban and rural areas will be selected for free health insurance on the basis of occupational and income streams . Health Insurers premium will be paid from PM-Cares. This will enable the children to get services in the secondary and post-secondary hospitals.
