These changes will come into effect from May 29, which includes many changes ranging from multi-city check book, number of free transactions in a year, locker rent charges, monthly free transactions in savings account. Let us tell you that the change on service charge is going to fall on the customers of the bank. Because on this customers will have to pay more charges.
Cheque Return Charges
PNB has created a new slab for outward returning charge of ₹10 lakh. At present, the outward returning charge of ₹ 10 lakh will be ₹ 500 per instrument, which was earlier ₹ 250 per instrument above ₹ 1 lakh.
Outstation Check Charges
Changes have also been made in the bank in outstation returning. Now the charge up to ₹ 1 lakh will be ₹ 150 per instrument. At the same time, from ₹ 1 lakh to ₹ 10 lakh, it will be Rs 250 per instrument. Apart from this, in case of more than ₹ 10 lakh, it will be an instrument of 500 rupees.
Decreased number of free checks
PNB has also reduced the number of free check leaves. Earlier, savings account holders used to get 25 leaf check books in a financial year free of cost. But now from May 29, the 20-leaf checkbook will be available for free.
Free Transaction in Savings Account
A total of 50 debit transactions are free in a financial year. Now after 50 free debit transactions, a charge of Rs 10 will be charged from the customers on every transaction.
Savings Bank Account
Cash handling charges for deposits are applicable at both base and non-base branches of the transaction. There will be 3 free transactions monthly (through alternate channels like BNA, ATM, CDM). Now customers will have to pay ₹ 50 per thousand for free up to ₹ 1 lakh daily and ₹ 50 per thousand on minimum transactions above ₹ 1 lakh.
Proposed fee for locker rent penalty
PNB has also changed the bank locker rent penalty. According to the new proposed fee, delay up to 1 year will attract a penalty of 25% of the annual rent. At the same time, delay from 1 year to 3 years will attract a penalty of 50% of the annual rent, while for more than 3 years, the bank will break the locker.
