From January 8, Punjab National Bank has increased its interest rates sharply for a specific period. Even before this, the bank had increased the rates on some deposits of specific duration on January 1st.


Within a month, Punjab National Bank has given the gift of increasing interest rates twice to its investors. In the second announcement, the bank has increased the rates by 0.8 percent for a specific period. This change in rates has come into effect from January 8. Earlier, the bank had increased the rates by 0.45 percent for some specific period. However, rates were cut for some other periods.

Where did you get the gift of increase in rates?

According to the information given by the bank, interest rates on deposits for a period of 300 days have been increased by 0.8 basis points as compared to the rates announced on January 1, 2024. From January 8, interest of 7.05 percent will be available on deposits of 300 days. According to the rates announced on January 1, interest of 6.25 percent was being given on this period. For this period, senior citizens will get 7.55 percent interest which was 6.75 percent about a week ago. With this increase, super senior citizens will get 7.85 percent interest which was earlier 7.05 percent.

What are the other rates of PNB?

PNB is currently offering 3.5 percent to 7.25 percent interest for the common people. Currently the highest interest is on deposits of 400 days. For this period, 7.25 percent interest is being given on FD. For this period, senior citizens are being given 7.75 percent interest and super seniors are being given 8.05 percent interest. The bank is offering interest of 6.5 percent for long term i.e. 5 years to 10 years. At the same time, interest of 7 percent is being given for the period of more than 2 years and less than 3 years.
