PNB KYC Update: Punjab National Bank has given an ultimatum to its customers to update KYC details. If customers fail to do so, their account will be suspended.
Punjab National Bank: Punjab National Bank, one of the largest and oldest banks in India, has asked its customers to update KYC details by August 12. On Friday, the bank issued a statement saying that if customers fail to update KYC details within the stipulated time limit, their accounts will be suspended.
The bank has said that this ultimatum is for those customers whose accounts should have been KYC updated by March 31, 2024. Under this, customers are required to go to their branch and do KYC by updating information like ID proof, address proof, recent photo, PAN, income proof, mobile number.
Get KYC done by August 12
Following the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, Punjab National Bank (PNB) has asked its customers to update KYC by August 12 to ensure smooth functioning.
The bank has also said that KYC can be done till August 12, 2024 through PNB One App / Internet Banking Services (IBS) / registered e-mail / post or by visiting any branch in person.
How to update KYC without going to the bank?
Customers can update their KYC digitally without going to the bank. The Reserve Bank has also issued guidelines for customers who want to update their KYC online.
According to an RBI circular, “Banks have been advised to provide such facility through the customer’s registered email ID, registered mobile number, ATM, digital channels (eg. Customers can update their KYC through online banking/internet banking, mobile applications), letter etc.
