The post office was getting complaints that senior citizens and sick people have difficulty in making evacuations, as it is difficult for them to reach the post office center. The account holder needs to go to the post office to do things like avail loan facility, premature closure, account closing. Now India Post has simplified the rules for this and has decided to give relief to sick people including senior citizens from visiting the center. Now the successor can also do such work on behalf of the account holder.

The account holder will have to fill Form-12 for this and write a letter to the postmaster. In this letter, the account holder will have to tell that he gives the right to such a person to do withdrawal, pre-closure, deposit, loan etc.

For this, it is necessary to attest the signature of the authorized person on behalf of the account holder. If it is a joint account, then either of the two can attest the signature of the authorized person. One special thing to keep in mind is that the authorized person should not work in the post office.

For withdrawal, the account holder will have to fill the Withdrawal Form SB-7, for Closure Form SB-7A, for Pre-mature Closure, Form SB-7B and for Loan, Form SB-7C. Signature of the account holder is required on this form. Along with this, the ID of the account holder and the authorized person and the self-attested copy of the address proof will also have to be attached. Later on further process will be done and other work including evacuation can be done.
