Usually people go to the post office to withdraw their money, whereas in the post office too, ATM card is available like a bank. But you might not know about this. Here is the process:-
Step 1
You need to fill up the ATM form to get the ATM card on your post office savings bank account. Apart from ATM, you can request for Internet Banking, SMS and Mobile Banking service in this form.
Step 2
After filling this form, you will also have to attach your passbook with it. Thereafter this form will be verified by GDS and SB-28 receipt will be issued for submission of your passbook.
Step 3
Now GDS will send your form to BO Journal or BO Daily Account. After this it will go to the respective post office and there the post master will do all your investigation. After the verification is completed, he will issue the ATM card in the name of the account holder.
Step 4
At the same time, if found correct in the investigation, SPM will keep the SB ATM card in the guard file. Then after writing the date of issue of ATM, the post master will sign in the register and then your ATM card will be sent to GDM BPM. Lastly, at the RICT-CBS branch from where you got this ATM card, you can collect it, and also take your passbook along with it.
