Why was there no change in the interest rate of PPF?

It was told by the government officials that due to the interest rate on PPF not increasing, the returns on it are higher. Even after the highest tax bracket, it is reaching 10.32 percent. Due to this, the interest rate of PPF has been kept as it is.

Savings Account – 4 percent
One year FD – 6.9 percent
Two year FD – 7.0 percent
Three year FD – 7.1 percent
Five year FD – 7.5 percent
RD – 6.7 percent
Senior Citizen Deposit – 8.2 percent
Monthly Income Plan – 7.4 percent
NSC – 7.7 percent
PPF- 7.1 percent
KVP – 7.5 percent
SSY – 8.2 percent

Interest rates are updated every quarter

The interest rates of small saving schemes are reviewed by the Central Government on every quarterly basis. The last change in interest rates was made in December 2023.
