Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana: Jan Dhan account can be opened without Aadhaar and PAN, more than 41 crore people are taking advantage

Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), more than 41 crore people have Jan Dhan accounts so far. Under this scheme, the total number of Jan Dhan accounts increased to 41.6 crores by 6 January 2021, the Finance Ministry has given a tweet. At the same time, the number of accounts with zero balance has come down from 58 percent in March 2015 to 7.5 percent. Till date, 41.65 crore beneficiaries have deposited funds in banks. ₹ 137,195.93 crore is deposited in the beneficiaries account




Jan Dhan account is one, many benefits

Well there are many benefits of Jan Dhan account. For example, the facility of free mobile banking on the account along with interest on deposit is also provided. You can withdraw up to Rs 10,000 from overdraft with your money. At the same time, accident insurance cover up to 2 lakh rupees is available. Life cover up to Rs. 30,000, which is available on completion of eligibility conditions on death of the beneficiary. Rupees debit card is given to Jan Dhan account holder. It is easy to buy insurance, pension products through this account. If there is a Jan Dhan account, then accounts will be opened for pension in schemes like PM Kisan and Shramayogi Maandhan. At the same time, the money of the benefits of government schemes comes directly into the account.

Method of opening account without PAN and Aadhaar

According to the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India, a citizen can open a Jan Dhan account even if there is no official document including PAN, Aadhaar, Voter Card. To open an account, he must first go to the nearest bank branch. In the presence of a bank officer, one has to give his self attested photograph. This photo must have his signature or thumbprint. After this, the bank officer opens his account. After this, any valid document has to be made and deposited with the bank till the completion of 12 months from the date of opening of the account, after which the account continues.

Voter Card, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card , Issue Job Card by NREGA, Letter from any authority of the Government, mentioning name and address
, any document issued from Central Government, Letter issued by Gadget Officer.

In 2014, in his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of Jan Dhan Yojana. The scheme was launched on 28 August 2014 and the government launched the second version of the scheme in 2018 with more features and benefits. In the second version of the scheme, the Modi government decided to target every person in place of each family, who were still denied banking facilities. Apart from this, the cover of free accident insurance for Rupees card holders on open Jan Dhan accounts after August 28, 2018 was doubled to Rs 2 lakh.
