Under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, there have been more than 40,35 crore accounts opened in the country so far. At Rs 1.31 lakh crore, government programs, subsidies etc. were transferred to those accounts. All the details associated with the scheme were listed by the Government. 55.2 per cent of the total account holders of this scheme are women, as per the Modi government. While 63.6 of the total accounts are rural population.
Under its various schemes, the government benefits from direct benefit transfer to about 8 Crore Jan Dhan account holders. The government transfers money from the gas subsidy via opened Zandhan accounts on zero balance to all schemes.

The scheme to open poor bank accounts was started in 2015. It’s not a difficult task to open Jan Dhan account, either. Even if you don’t have full documentation at the place, you can still open your account.
You can download the form from the PM Jan Dhan Yojana web site or from any bank’s web site to open a bank account. Its forms are also available at bank branches. Driving license, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, passport, PAN card, MNREGA work card or any Central Government issued document is valid.
