Washington, Agency. The powerful social media platform that has erupted between Twitter and the US President has reached a turning point. Trump on Thursday signed an executive order aimed at increasing government control over regulating social media platforms. CNN reported that during a talk at the Oval Office before signing the order, Trump said the move was necessary to protect the free speech. He said that it is one of the most serious threats in American history. 



Twitter calls Trump’s two tweets misleading

From Confrontation to Regulating Social Media Platforms

  • Twitter questioned the President’s mail-in voting. Twitter has warned of a fact-check, flagging some of Trump’s tweets. 
  • After this, President Trump has targeted Twitter on a series of two tweets. In his first tweet, he wrote, ‘Twitter is now also interfering in the 2020 US presidential election. 
  • Trump said that my statement about mail-in ballots would lead to big corruption and fraud. this is wrong. This fake news is based on the fact-checking of CNN and Amazon Washington Post. It is presented as if a sin has been committed.
  • In another tweet, he said that Twitter is completely attacking our freedom. He further said that as a President, I will not allow this to happen at all. 
  • This is the first time the social media platform Twitter has warned the US President. After this warning, Trump said it was against freedom of speech and called it an interference in the US presidential election.
